Code of Ethics
The American Nurses Association approved the original Code of Ethics for Nurses in 1985. A review of this Code began in 1995 and in July 2001 the Congress of Nursing Practice and Economics of the ANA approved a fully revised Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statement.

An Independent Study Module
The ANA has an online continuing education offering on the Code of Ethics. The offering is approved for 1.8 contact hours. It will expire December 31, 2008.
The offering is $13.00 for non-members and $8.00 for members of the American Nurses Association.
The training is online. After reading the content a link to the test will be available to click. If you have not taken an ANA continuing education offering before, you will need to register before taking the test.
